International Stadium Yokohama is located in Yokohama city in Kanagawa prefecture. This is the stadium for the final of Rugby World Cup Japan 2019.

Public transportation is available to access to International Stadium Yokohama. The most popular way is by train.


There are 2 train stations near the stadium, Shin-Yokohama stationa and Kozukue station. From Shin-Yokohama station, it takes 12~14 minutes by walking. And from Kozukue station, it takes 7 minutes by walking.

Kozukue station

There is 1 line stopping at Kozukue station:

Kozukue station is the next station from Shin-Yokohama station by JR Yokohama line. You can choose to go to Kozukue station or you can get off at Shin-Yokohama station.


There are local buses, operated by 2 bus companies, going to the stadium.

Yokohama Municipal Bus

Yokohama Municipal Bus operates between Shin-Yokohama station and the stadium as well as between Nakamachidai station of Yokohama Municipal Subway and the stadium.

Tokyu Bus

Tokyu Bus operates between Shin-Yokohama station/Nippa Station of Yokohama Municipal Subway/Tokyu Tsunashima station and the stadium. Also, it operates between Tokyu Mizonokuchi station and the stadium. If you get off at Shin-Yokohama station, it may be easy to walk to the stadium.


It takes approximately 30 minutes from JR Yokohama station by taxi. And, it costs around 3,500 yen to 4,000 yen.


How to access to Shin-Yokohama station from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka

From Tokyo to Shin-Yokohama

You have several choices to go to Shin-Yokohama from Tokyo, depending on which area in Tokyo you are in. If you stay around Tokyo station, you can take a Shinkansen, bullet train, from Tokyo to Shin-Yokohama. It takes less than 20 minutes. This is the fastest way to go to Shin-Yokohama from Tokyo.

If you want to save money, you can choose to take local trains from Tokyo station to Shin-Yokohama (To take a bullet train, you need to purchase express ticket in addition to train ticket). It takes 40 ~ 50 minutes. You can take JR Tokaido line or JR Keihin-Tohoku line. And, you have to transit at Yokohama station (when you take JR Tokaido line) or Higashi-Kanagawa station (when you take JR Keihin-Tohoku line).

If you stay around Shibuya, you can take Tokyu train and JR train to go to Shin-Yokohama. From Shibuya station, you can take Tokyu Toyoko line to Kikuna station. And then, at Kikuna station, you transit to JR Yokohama line which goes to Shin-Yokohama station. With this route, it takes 30 to 40 minutes.

From Osaka to Shin-Yokohama

Shinkansen is the most popular way to go to Shin-Yokohama from Osaka. You can take a Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka station to Shin-Yokohama station. It takes 2 hours 10 ~ 20 minutes by Nozomi train, the fastest one. (This train can not be used with JR Pass). Shin-Osaka station can be access from Osaka/Umeda by JR line, which take 4 minutes.

If you land on Kansai International Airport (KIX), you can take JR Limited Express Haruka from Kansai International Airport to Shin-Osaka. Then, at Shin-Osaka station, you can transit to Shinkansen going to Shin-Yokohama.

From Nagoya to Shin-Yokohama

Shinkansen should be the option from Nagoya to Shin-Yokohama. You can take a Shinkansen from Nagoya to Shin-Yokohama without any transit. It takes 1 hour 15 ~ 25 minutes by Nozomi train (not available for JR Pass). If you have JR Pass, you can take Hikari or Kodama trains from Nagoya to Shin-Yokohama which takes more time than Nozomi, but no transit required.

From Fukuoka to Shin-Yokohama

From Fukuoka to Shin-Yokohama, you can choose to take a Shinkansen or take a flight and trains. The nearest airport to Shin-Yokohama is Haneda International Airport (HND). However, from Haneda Airport to Shin-Yokohama, transit(s) is required. If you don’t want to transit, you can take Shinkansen Nozomi train from Hakata to Shin-Yokohama. It takes 4 hour 40 ~ 50 minutes, but no transit is required.

If you have Japan Rail Pass, you can take non-Nozomi shinkansen from Hakata to Shin-Yokohama. This takes more time than taking Nozomi train, but you don’t have to pay extra if you have a JR Pass.


How to go to the stadium with Japan Rail Pass

Since Shin-Yokohama station, one of the stations closed to the stadium, is a JR station, you can access from most of places in Japan with your Japan Rail Pass by taking JR trains.

From Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, you can take non-Nozomi Shinkansen to Shin-Yokohama.

From Tokyo, you can take JR local train, Tokaido line and Keihin-Tohoku line as well as Yokohama line.
